Fairytale Wedding in the Redwoods

Brindi and Jordan planned a beautiful fairytale wedding in the redwoods and celebrated with their closest loved ones. I have known Brindi for most of my life, her mother taught me how to ride horses when I was little and Brindi and I have bonded through the years over our shared passions (art, dragons, fantasy, animals, etc.). It was truly special to be chosen to capture such an incredible day.

The day started with getting ready at the AirBNB in Trinidad. The house had large windows that overlooked the ocean. I walked in as the girls were getting ready for the big day ahead of them, but the vibes were calm and happy. They had mimosas poured and some early-2000’s hip hop to set the tone for the day. I snapped some getting ready shots and got to work on detail flatlays and photos of Brindi’s gorgeous dress.

I then left the bridal party and traveled to where the groom and his groomsmen were getting ready. They were getting ready nearby at the Dream House where the reception would later be held. The guys all wore matching Lord of the Rings inspired socks – one of many fairytale details sprinkled throughout the wedding. We took some getting ready photos and waited for the bride to arrive for the first touch.

Once Brindi was ready, she traveled to the Dream House where she and Jordan had an emotional first touch and vow exchange. Brindi and Jordan rolled a D20 die – Jordan won and decided that Brindi was to go first. They grasped hands around a large redwood tree as they read their vows to one another.

The wedding party then traveled down to Sequoia Grove in Eureka for the wedding ceremony. The ceremony location was in a grove of giant redwood trees and the afternoon sun filtered through the tree canopy adding to the magic of the day. The “bubble boys” preceded the bride with their entrance to the ceremony, donning their cloaks, shooting their bubble guns, and handing out shots to members of the audience.

The ceremony was short and beautiful, including a hand-fasting, more bubbles, and an epic dip kiss on the exit. We then proceeded to take family group photos before Brindi, Jordan, and I ventured off through the redwoods for couples portraits.

We then traveled back to the Dream House to join the party that was already commencing. The decor around the venue featured tidbits of fantasy favorites including Lord of the Rings, Throne of Glass, ACOTAR, and many more. The wedding reception involved a beautifully decorated dinner table, amazing food, emotional toasts, and was followed by a hell of a party! The dance floor was never empty and there was definitely a shot-ski involved.

It is always an honor to capture these special moments for people, but it is extra special when it is for a dear friend. Thank you Brindi and Jordan for choosing me to be a part of your magical wedding day!
